About the funder

Section VII Digitalization and E-Government at the Federal Chancellery coordinates and drives the nationwide digital transformation of Austria. It develops national digitalization, artificial intelligence, and data strategies, ensures the legal framework for digitized administrative processes (legislation), and promotes innovative e-government solutions for citizens, businesses, and authorities. Its responsibilities include the implementation and further development of platforms such as "oesterreich.gv.at," the "Digitales Amt" app, and the Business Service Portal (USP), the coordination of cross-departmental IT projects, as well as IT consolidation within the federal government. In international ICT and e-government committees, it represents Austria's interests and establishes benchmarking standards.

Section VII aims to position Austria as a digital pioneer in Europe. Our commitment is to a citizen- and business-friendly e-government that, through innovative strategies, clear legal frameworks, and continuous skills development, creates sustainable efficiency and transparency in administration and society.

Target groups

Our funding and support activities are aimed at public administrations at the federal, state, and municipal levels, businesses and economic organizations, as well as citizens who wish to implement digital projects or use e-government applications. We particularly promote initiatives that contribute to the modernization of administrative processes, digital inclusion, and the development of skills in handling new technologies.
