Department II/ORK/10 at the Federal Ministry of the Interior is responsible for overarching crisis management, the collection and processing of current situational information, as well as the organization and standards for control centers and call centers. It represents the BMI in national, European, and international specialist and expert committees, develops guidelines for training and further education in staff work, coordinates technical operational processes, and defines reporting procedures. Furthermore, it ensures security, occupational medical, and occupational psychological standards for permanently operated situation centers.

Our mission is to ensure seamless and reliable coordination of crisis management and situational awareness. We establish binding guidelines, promote the training and further education of staff work, and guarantee technical and organizational standards to secure decision-making and operational capability in all crisis scenarios.

Department II/ORK/10 is aimed at national and European security authorities, crisis teams, control centers, and public agencies that require rapid, coordinated situational information and operational support in exceptional situations, disasters, and major damage incidents. It also serves international bodies and interministerial committees for the coordination of overarching crisis strategies.
