About the funder
The Club Foundation aims to support rowing in Hamburg and, in particular, to secure and promote the existence and further development of the Hamburger und Germania Ruder Club. It provides financial grants for the maintenance of the boathouse and its facilities and ensures a fleet of boats suitable for both competitive and recreational rowing. It equally supports engagement in competitive sports as well as the offerings of recreational rowing for young and old. Founded in 2000 with initial capital of 135,000 Deutsche Marks, the foundation’s assets have since grown significantly through numerous additional donations but still need to be expanded further to sustainably fulfill the statutory purposes. Contributions are possible as donations or additional endowments; the foundation’s purpose is financed from the proceeds and directly allocated to the club’s budget. As a charitable foundation, contributions are tax-advantaged. The foundation board manages the assets and its members are always available to provide information and advice on funding opportunities.
