About the funder

The Da Ponte Foundation Darmstadt is a non-profit organization established in 1993 as a foundation under civil law. It supports musical projects with an innovative character and focuses on the promotion of young musical talents in Germany. The foundation is financed through capital income and donations, currently holds a conservatively invested endowment capital of €66,500, and grants funding in the form of monetary awards as well as performance opportunities. Management is carried out on a voluntary basis by a board appointed by the circle of founders. There is no application procedure; the selection of beneficiaries is made internally with the advice of experienced musicians.

Mission & Vision

The Da Ponte Foundation is dedicated to supporting the education and artistic development of young musicians as well as projects with an innovative musical approach. It believes in the importance of artistic diversity and promotes the development of emerging musical talent in Germany on a long-term basis.

Target groups

Priority is given to supporting young musicians as well as chamber music ensembles in Germany who distinguish themselves through exceptional artistic excellence and innovative spirit. The foundation targets individuals and groups who are already in training or are gaining initial public project experience.
