About the funder
The Deutscher Kinderschutzbund Foundation (DKSB Foundation) is a legal, non-profit foundation established on December 14, 1989, by the DKSB Federal Association e. V. and has been active since January 1, 1990. Under the supervision of the state of Lower Saxony, it is committed to the sustainable improvement of the living conditions of children and adolescents in Germany. The foundation's assets currently amount to approximately 2,252.3 thousand euros (as of December 31, 2023) and are permanently preserved; only the income generated is used for funding. The foundation purposefully supports scientific research in child protection, practical measures and projects for the further development of child protection work, training and continuing education for professionals, as well as the strengthening of public relations on child protection issues.

Mission & Vision
The DKSB Foundation aims to promote a child-friendly and healthy environment as well as high-quality facilities for children and adolescents. Through targeted funding, it seeks to link research and practice in child protection, strengthen professionals, and raise societal awareness of the concerns of children and families. It operates independently of political parties and religious affiliations to contribute effectively and sustainably to the protection and development of young people.
Target groups
The target group of the DKSB Foundation comprises child protection initiatives, scientific and practical actors, as well as (future) employees in child protection work in Germany. This includes research institutions, local and state associations of the Child Protection League, non-profit organizations, and individuals or groups who promote the advancement of child protection through innovative projects, training and further education measures, or public relations work.
