Die Wiesbaden Stiftung
About the funder
The Wiesbaden Foundation is an independent, non-profit community foundation based in Wiesbaden. Founded in 2003 by committed citizens with initial capital of approximately EUR 200,000, the endowment has grown to about EUR 6 million. The foundation aims to sustainably strengthen the community of the state capital Wiesbaden and to promote city life in areas such as children and youth, civic engagement and associations, as well as urban landscape, history, and culture. In addition to financial support, it initiates and carries out its own projects (“BürgerKolleg,” “Leseritter,” “Impact Festival,” and many more) and works closely with municipal partners, businesses, and other sponsors.

It seeks to promote innovative and exemplary initiatives through endowments and donations and to implement its own projects operationally. In doing so, it does not compete with the municipality but complements the city's offerings through cooperative partnerships and focuses on sustainable, impact-oriented impulses to strengthen the city and its residents.
