The Dixie-Dörner-Stiftung was founded on November 24, 2022, at the premises of the Bürgerstiftung Dresden. It originated from the "Fußballnachwuchsstiftung Dresden," established in 2008. The foundation is named in memory of Hans-Jürgen "Dixie" Dörner, one of the most significant German football players. Dörner was a legend of the SG Dynamo Dresden club and played a central role in German football. The foundation aims to support clubs and sports projects in Dresden and beyond. It promotes charitable projects in the fields of sports, children, youth, education, and social affairs, with a particular focus on children and youth football.

The Dixie-Dörner-Stiftung is committed to preserving the memory of Hans-Jürgen "Dixie" Dörner and carrying forward his values.
