About the funder

The Doris Wolff Foundation was established in 2010 on the occasion of Doris Wolff’s 90th birthday and continues to honor her memory. It is a non-profit private foundation based in Bielefeld that specifically supports projects in the fields of science and research, youth welfare, as well as education, public and vocational training (§ 52 AO) in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region. A key focus is on promoting young talent in STEM (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology). The foundation awards one-time grants of up to 10,000 euros as well as multi-year funding and preferably cooperates with local educational institutions and research laboratories.

Mission & Vision

The Doris Wolff Foundation aims to support children, adolescents, and students in East Westphalia-Lippe on their path to a solid education and to inspire their enthusiasm for science and research. Through financial resources and long-term partnerships, it contributes to solving societal problems and strengthening the STEM talent pipeline in the region.

Target groups

The funding programs are aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions (e.g., daycare centers, schools, universities) in East Westphalia-Lippe, whose projects provide children, adolescents, and students of all school types and disciplines with professional and practical access to STEM content. Only locally operated, time-limited projects that generate and convey knowledge and contribute to sustainable learning outcomes are supported.
