Dr. Alex und Eva Friend Stiftung
About the funder
The Dr. Alex and Eva Friend Foundation was established by Alexander John George Friend (1900–1981) and his wife Eva Hanna Löser (1923–2013) and supports the Institute of Philosophy at the Justus Liebig University Giessen. The founders' assets are used posthumously within the foundation to finance academic events such as the annual summer seminar with guest lecturers from the USA and to award seed grants for postgraduates. The foundation honors the significance of exile and study in Giessen as well as the transatlantic connection between Germany and the USA.
