About the funder
The non-profit Dr. Michael Munkert Foundation was established by the Munkert family in memory of Dr. Michael Munkert Sr. Its primary purpose is the promotion of science and research as well as education and upbringing, particularly in the field of tax advisory and auditing professions. As a secondary purpose, the foundation also selflessly supports individuals with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities. The foundation board consists of Dr. Michael Munkert (Chairman), Susanne Munkert-Riedrich (Deputy Chairwoman), and Gertrud Munkert.

Target groups
The funding measures of the Dr. Michael Munkert Foundation are aimed at students of the Institute for Finance, Accounting, Controlling & Taxation (FACT) at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, early-career researchers in the fields of business administration, taxation, tax law, and auditing, graduates of the tax specialist and tax clerk examinations of the Nuremberg Chamber of Tax Advisors, as well as chairs and research institutions in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Controlling & Taxation that implement projects in teaching and research.
