About the funder

The Eberhard Dirrigl Stiftung is a non-legal local project foundation of the City of Regensburg, established on June 17, 2010, through the legacy of Regensburg citizen Eberhard Dirrigl and officially recognized on January 24, 2011. It exclusively and directly supports charitable (§ 52 Fiscal Code) and benevolent (§ 53 Fiscal Code) purposes in Regensburg. Priority is given to the areas of art and culture, sports, education and upbringing, science and research, as well as monument protection, monument preservation, local heritage, and local history. Administration and representation are the responsibility of the City of Regensburg, while the allocation of foundation funds is decided by a voluntary foundation advisory board.

Mission & Vision

The Eberhard Dirrigl Foundation preserves the memory of its founder by strengthening the common good in Regensburg. It supports projects that promote cultural diversity, sporting camaraderie, educational opportunities, scientific innovation, and the preservation of regional traditions. In doing so, it makes a sustainable contribution to the quality of life in the city.

Target groups

The foundation's target group comprises non-profit organizations, associations, and institutions in Regensburg – including the University of Regensburg and municipal cultural institutions – that initiate projects in the funded areas. Individuals and groups are supported who aim to enrich social, cultural, and scientific life in Regensburg with innovative projects.
