About the funder

The Edith and Werner Rieder Foundation was established on February 4, 1999, and as a legally recognized public foundation under civil law, it exclusively and directly pursues charitable and benevolent purposes in accordance with the German Fiscal Code. Its foundation purpose is the promotion of social initiatives as well as cultural and art projects. In recent years, it has primarily supported youth welfare projects in the Munich, Upper Bavaria, and Allgäu regions, including medical care for supervised groups and individuals, educational support for large families, grants for disability-accessible vehicles, and charitable aid for marginalized groups. Since 2009, it has initiated significant cultural awards for German-language dramaturgy and cooperates with renowned institutions such as the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Volkstheater Wien. Furthermore, it supports temporary exhibitions of its distinguished post-war and contemporary art collection in public art institutions. All donations to the foundation are tax-deductible.
