Private foundation

About the funder

The Eduard Bay Foundation was established in 2001 by Doris Münch in memory of her father, the ceramics manufacturer Eduard Bay. For over 25 years, the foundation has primarily supported hospice work in the Westerwald district, assisted institutions of Christian charity, and provided aid to homeless people. From the proceeds of the foundation's capital and through donations, training and further education measures for volunteer hospice and grief counselors, palliative care projects, as well as projects to improve the culture of farewell, are financed. To date, the foundation has provided around EUR 85,000, including for hospice kits in care facilities.

Mission & Vision

The Eduard Bay Foundation is committed to providing dignified support to critically ill and dying individuals as well as their relatives in the Westerwald region. Using the proceeds from the foundation’s capital and additional donations, we promote training and continuing education for volunteers in the hospice movement, the expansion of palliative and pain-relieving care, as well as the support of projects related to Christian charity and homeless assistance. In all our actions, the individual’s unique life situation remains at the center of our efforts.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Eduard Bay Foundation are aimed at outpatient and inpatient hospice services, nursing homes, hospitals, and other institutions of Christian charity in the Westerwald district. Support is provided particularly to volunteer hospice and bereavement companions, palliative care teams and initiatives that carry out projects related to end-of-life and mourning culture, as well as organizations offering sustainable support to homeless people.
