About the funder

The Hansenberg Alumni Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, established in April 2013 by graduates and supporters of the Hansenberg Boarding School (founders: Hansenberg Alumni Association e. V., Linde AG, and Prof. Dr. h.c. mult. Roland Koch). It promotes the education and training of motivated, capable, and socially committed students, makes boarding school attendance independent of the parents' financial circumstances, and additionally supports projects in the scientific, cultural, and sporting fields. The foundation awards need-based partial and full scholarships, covers application and BAföG costs as well as material contributions, and supports internships abroad both ideologically and financially. Through close networking with alumni and partner companies, it aims to achieve the school's long-term financial autonomy.

Mission & Vision

The mission of the Hansenberg Alumni Foundation is to create equal opportunities and promote the personal and academic development of dedicated students at the Hansenberg Boarding School – regardless of their social background. To this end, it awards needs-based scholarships, supports school projects, and builds a strong alumni network that embodies values such as commitment, social competence, and responsibility.

Target groups

The funding is aimed at current and prospective students of the Hansenberg Boarding School, whose family income situation makes full financing of the boarding school stay difficult. This includes scholarship recipients for boarding stays (partial and full scholarships as well as book allowances), applicants to Hansenberg (coverage of application and selection costs), BAföG recipients and eligible individuals (individual in-kind benefits), as well as committed and high-achieving young people who wish to take on social responsibility.
