Else Voss Stiftung
About the funder
The Else Voss Foundation was established on June 20, 1968, by the couple Karl Andreas and Else Voss. Karl Andreas Voss was a prominent publisher in Hamburg and co-founder of the Axel Springer publishing house. The foundation bears the name of his wife, Else. The foundation’s goal is to provide affordable housing for elderly people with low incomes. These residences enable the inhabitants to lead an independent life in their own apartments well into old age within the framework of assisted living. The foundation offers spacious communal areas designed to promote coexistence and mutual support. In addition to providing housing, the foundation regularly organizes cultural and educational programs to encourage stimulation, communication, and quality of life. Seniors from the surrounding area are warmly invited to participate in these offerings. The foundation continues to be managed today according to the principles of its founders.
