Mission & Vision

Our goal is to empower children and families to develop healthy and sustainable eating habits through practical nutrition education. We focus on experiential and sensory training, participatory learning opportunities, and the involvement of the entire environment – from educators and kitchen staff to parents. In this way, we contribute to the prevention of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases and strengthen competence in handling food.

Target groups

The offerings of the ESSEN WISSEN Stiftung Eildermann are aimed at a broad audience: kindergarten children get to know food playfully in our cooking and baking bus, pupils participate in age-appropriate nutrition workshops, educators and childcare workers are supported with didactics and teaching materials, kitchen staff and cooks receive training in healthy communal catering, and parents as well as families are sensitized to balanced meals in everyday life and receive practical tips. All programs aim to strengthen network effects and actively involve both the professional and family environments in nutrition education.
