Eva Meurer Stiftung zur Förderung neuer Lebensformen im Alter

Private foundation

About the funder

The Eva Meurer Foundation was established in 1996 following the death of its founder Dr. Brigitte Richter, from the estate of Eva Meurer. The purpose of the foundation is to promote elderly care, civic engagement, and support for needy older individuals. The focus is on the development and support of new forms of coexistence and cooperation between generations, as well as alternative living arrangements in old age. The foundation funds projects that enable self-organized, communal living in old age, empower older people in their self-determination, and ensure their participation in social life. The foundation conducts public relations and educational work, scientifically supports innovative elderly care projects, and assists in the formation of groups and working circles.

Mission & Vision

We believe that a self-determined life in familiar surroundings is possible well into old age. The Eva Meurer Foundation is therefore committed to self-organized, intergenerational housing projects in which older people provide mutual support, further develop their skills, and actively participate in social life even with health limitations. Our goal is to initiate, support, and sustainably promote innovative housing and living models for the elderly.

Target groups

Priority is given to supporting elderly, needy individuals, particularly women who require assistance due to health or material limitations. Furthermore, the foundation targets initiatives and organizations that develop alternative and intergenerational living arrangements for the elderly, provide scientific support, or create public relations and educational programs on new life concepts in old age.
