Mission & Vision

The commitment of the Evonik Foundation is guided by the four core themes "Young People," "Natural Sciences," "Germany," and "Integration," as well as the six areas of education, science, culture, church, social affairs, and sports. Its mission statement serves as a compass for all funding decisions: Projects that cover at least two core themes and contribute to enabling people to lead self-determined and responsible lives are supported. The only exception to this rule is scholarship awards, where the individual promotion of talented young scientists is the primary focus.

Target groups

The Evonik Foundation primarily targets young people with its programs, especially children, adolescents, and students who face limited educational opportunities due to social or economic disadvantages. A focus is placed on talented early-career scientists in STEM subjects (master’s theses, doctoral dissertations, postdoctoral research). Furthermore, projects that support integration, cultural participation, church engagement, or the athletic development of children and adolescents are funded. Scholarships are also awarded to students, including refugees.
