Mission & Vision
The primary objective of Filmfonds Wien is to strengthen Vienna as a film and media location as well as a hub for international filmmaking. Film funding is understood as both cultural and economic support that secures employment in the creative industries. Through success-based repayable grants and, under certain conditions, non-repayable subsidies for project development, production, and distribution, the diversity and quality of Austrian film are to be promoted and the widest possible audience reached.
Target groups
The funding programs of Filmfonds Wien are aimed at Austrian production companies and distributors who produce or exploit feature films, children's films, documentaries, and television productions. Additionally, film cultural institutions are supported for structural measures. The Talent LAB program specifically targets emerging filmmakers whose projects have already been supported at the development stage within the framework of the ÖFI Talent LAB.
