About the funder

The Frankfurter Foundation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is a public-law foundation based in Frankfurt am Main. As a center for education and culture, we are active in strengthening people with hearing impairments to participate in society on the one hand, and on the other hand, raising awareness in society about the challenges of deafness, hard of hearing, and acquired deafness. Within this framework, the foundation offers counseling, events, and seminars for those affected and their social environment. The range of services includes sign language courses, empowerment seminars, and guided tours through our barrier-free experiential exhibition. Furthermore, we rent seminar and meeting rooms as well as apartments for people with hearing impairments in our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center. The foundation exclusively and directly pursues charitable purposes within the meaning of the section “tax-privileged purposes” of the German Fiscal Code. The foundation’s purpose serves the public benefit by promoting, supporting, and assisting deaf and hard of hearing people as well as their self-help organizations in accordance with § 53 AO. There is no legal entitlement to foundation funds.
