"Geistesfreiheit"

The Geistesfreiheit Foundation is a non-profit, politically independent foundation based in Hamburg. It promotes the freethinking, free-humanist, and scientifically progressive movement on a scientific basis. Its tasks include, in particular, supporting and expanding the youth initiation ceremonies in Hamburg and Dresden, conducting regular training courses for instructors and helpers, as well as publishing the magazine "Freier Blick." The foundation works closely with related organizations and guarantees political neutrality as well as adherence to the liberal democratic constitutional order.

The Geistesfreiheit Foundation is committed to promoting an enlightened, scientifically grounded, and humanistic worldview. Its goal is to support young people during their transition to adulthood through educational and mentoring programs, to impart humanistic values such as solidarity, tolerance, and freedom of conscience, and to provide them with a platform for social engagement.

The foundation's offerings are aimed at adolescent participants of the youth initiation ceremonies in Hamburg and Dresden, as well as their course instructors and assistants. Furthermore, it supports organizations and associations that operate according to the principles of liberal democracy, humanity, and scientific reason. It particularly addresses those interested in worldview-neutral religious and ethical education, as well as actors involved in freethinking, humanistic, and scientific educational work.
