Gemeindestiftung Gräfelfing

The Gemeindestiftung Gräfelfing was initiated by the municipal council at the end of 2010 and recognized as a legal foundation by the Government of Upper Bavaria. Its goal is to close gaps in the social care of the garden city of Gräfelfing and to strengthen community spirit. The foundation deploys its endowment capital and incoming donations purposefully to provide financial assistance when residents earn slightly too much to qualify for state benefits but are unable to cover all necessary expenses—such as for care aids, school trips, or educational needs—on their own. Furthermore, it supports projects and associations in the fields of education, youth and elderly care, culture, environmental and nature conservation, as well as civic engagement.

Our mission is to provide swift and unbureaucratic assistance where financial resources are lacking and to promote the community in Gräfelfing across all generations. We believe in the power of neighborhood and aim, through transparent structures and voluntary commitment, to ensure that every cent of donations reaches the local area directly and generates sustainable impact.

The target group primarily comprises residents of the municipality of Gräfelfing whose income is just above the thresholds for state assistance yet who still experience financial difficulties. This includes families with children, seniors, people with disabilities, and single individuals. Furthermore, local clubs, cultural, environmental, and social projects that strengthen the community and contribute to the quality of life in Gräfelfing are supported.
