Gerhard und Ellen Zeidler-Stiftung

The Gerhard and Ellen Zeidler Foundation is a legal foundation under civil law based in Waldkraiburg (Upper Bavaria). It was established by the entrepreneurial couple Gerhard Gustav Zeidler and Renate Ellen Zeidler through a legacy and positions itself as a supporter of regional and supra-regional nature and environmental protection projects. The focus is on promoting habitat and species conservation measures as well as educational initiatives in the field of nature and animal protection. The foundation finances projects that would not be feasible or not fully realizable without its support. Together with the sister foundation Zeidler Research Foundation (supporting natural and engineering sciences), it represents the founders' legacy and contributes to the sustainable preservation of the natural living conditions in the region.

The Gerhard and Ellen Zeidler Foundation is committed to the preservation and development of valuable habitats and the protection of animals. Its mission is to support nonprofit initiatives in nature and animal conservation, thereby making a sustainable contribution to the preservation of biological diversity. The foundation places particular emphasis on supporting innovative and impactful projects that operate both regionally and beyond, with a close connection to the home region of Waldkraiburg.

Funding is provided primarily to non-profit animal protection associations, animal shelter-like organizations, and zoological gardens, as well as nature conservation and environmental projects. Institutions with a direct connection to the Waldkraiburg region and its surroundings are given preference under otherwise equal funding conditions. The target group includes individual projects and organizations committed to habitat conservation, species protection, and environmental education, which can implement their initiatives through financial support from the foundation.
