About the funder

Gudruns Kinder-Stiftung – Foundation in Memory of Gudrun Kockmann-Schadendorf was established in 2001 in Bad Bramstedt by Jan-Uwe Schadendorf. As a legally recognized foundation under civil law, based in Bad Bramstedt and approved by the Ministry of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein, it promotes charitable child and youth welfare in Bad Bramstedt and the surrounding area. The initial endowment of €10,000 has since grown to approximately €20,000. Grants from the foundation’s capital income and donations are awarded to kindergartens, primary schools, open all-day schools, youth centers, children’s and youth groups, as well as organizations such as the German Child Protection Association. Funded projects include, for example, lunch programs for children in need, sports activities, children’s sports check-ups, and the construction of a youth café.

Mission & Vision

The foundation aims to continue the political and social work of Gudrun Kockmann-Schadendorf in the field of child and youth services. It supports projects through financial grants that provide children and young people in Bad Bramstedt and the surrounding area with education, communal activities, and sports, particularly relieving those from disadvantaged families. In doing so, the foundation acts selflessly, sustainably, and in accordance with charitable purposes.

Target groups

Only non-profit institutions and initiatives in child and youth welfare in Bad Bramstedt and the surrounding area are supported. This includes kindergartens and integrative day care centers, primary schools and open all-day schools, youth centers and children’s and youth groups, as well as sports clubs and non-profit associations (e.g., German Child Protection Association). The grants are specifically aimed at projects that enable children and young people – including those from financially disadvantaged families – to access education, sports, and community activities.
