About the funder

The Günter Grass Foundation Bremen was established in 2001 by the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Sparkasse Bremen, Radio Bremen, and other culturally engaged partners. It collects, documents, and makes accessible the audiovisual works of Günter Grass – readings, speeches, interviews, as well as radio and television contributions. Radio Bremen provided its extensive archival material as a founding contribution. Today, the collection comprises nearly 4,000 audio and video documents from public broadcasters, international broadcasting corporations, and other institutions. Registered users can research the media archive online. The foundation continuously expands its collection and makes it accessible to scholars and the interested public.
