About the funder
The hace Foundation is an independent, non-profit foundation under civil law based in Überlingen (Ernatsreute). It was established in 2005 by the designer and copywriter Hubertus Carl Frey, known by the artist name "hace." Its purpose is the promotion of so-called semantic typography, where the design implementation of texts is consistently subordinated to their content. The foundation supports projects, publications, and events within the professional community, in business and industry, as well as the education and advancement of typographically talented students.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is the consistent alignment of typographic design with the primacy of textual content. We are committed to raising awareness of semantic typography in business communication, professional media, and academic teaching, thereby sustainably improving the quality of text–image relationships.
Target groups
The hace Foundation is aimed at professionals in graphic and communication design, stakeholders from business and industry, as well as students with typographic talent. Both practice-oriented projects and seminars, as well as scholarly work in the field of semantic typography, are supported.
