About the funder

The Hamburg Climate Protection Foundation is a legally recognized civil law foundation established in spring 2008 by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. It promotes environmental, nature, and climate protection as well as art and culture in the spirit of sustainable development, with a focus on education for sustainable development (ESD), particularly climate protection. The foundation operates the Gut Karlshöhe Environmental Center as an open, future-oriented place of learning and experience for all age groups and social sectors in the Hamburg metropolitan region. There, it imparts knowledge about natural life foundations, climate and energy, biodiversity, and sustainable consumption, and develops its own projects and programs such as the #moinzukunft Hamburg Climate Fund, the ESD Master Plan 2030, Climate School PLUS, and Energy to the Power of Four.
