About the funder
The Heinrich Dammann Foundation was established in 1991 by Ortrud and Heinrich Dammann to promote work with young people. The foundation, a non-profit church organization, is based on the conviction that young people are our future. It awards funding from the income generated by its assets to projects of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover as well as to other church-related and non-church initiatives in the fields of sports, education, art, and culture. The focus areas are youth participation, networking among youth work organizations, and the development of forward-looking youth work in rural areas.

Mission & Vision
The mission of the Heinrich-Dammann Foundation is to encourage young people aged 12 to 27 to actively participate in shaping their living environment. The foundation supports innovative and exemplary projects that foster community, promote talents, and provide guidance to youth. Through targeted collaborations and award ceremonies, it aims to open up new perspectives for young people and create sustainable impulses for contemporary youth work.
Target groups
Eligible for funding are young people aged 12 to 27 as well as non-profit associations, clubs, federations, and institutions involved in youth work, schools, colleges, and universities whose principles are based on social, democratic, and/or Christian values. The focus region is the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover and the state of Lower Saxony. Projects that strengthen youth participation, network youth work organizations, and develop forward-looking youth work in rural areas are supported.
