About the funder

The Heinrich Hertz Foundation is an institution of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia within the portfolio of the Ministry of Culture and Science. It promotes scientific research through international exchange. To this end, it awards net grants of up to EUR 1,500 per month for research stays abroad or in North Rhine-Westphalia as the sole scholarship provider. The decision on the awarding of scholarships is made by a voluntary board of trustees, which includes representatives of the state of NRW and Westdeutscher Rundfunk.
