About the funder
The Heinz and Heide Dürr Foundation was established at the end of 1998 by the entrepreneurial couple Heinz and Heide Dürr. It finances its diverse funding projects from the dividends of a donated share package of Dürr AG. The foundation is committed to the fields of science and research (particularly molecular biology, genetics, environmental technology, and energy efficiency), early childhood education (with a focus on the Early Excellence approach), as well as German-language spoken theater in Berlin. Its goal is to sustainably promote social developments and to provide impetus for a diverse, future-oriented community.

Mission & Vision
The Heinz and Heide Dürr Foundation is committed to ensuring that every individual takes responsibility for society. By supporting excellent, non-elitist early childhood education, innovative cultural projects in German-speaking theater, and pioneering research in genetics and environmental technology, the foundation aims to empower people to realize their potential and thereby contribute to a strong, livable society.
Target groups
Project sponsors are supported in three funding purposes: early childhood education institutions and professionals implementing the Early Excellence approach; cultural practitioners in German-language spoken theater in Berlin (authors, theater makers, and institutions); research institutions and scientists in the field of molecular biology/genetics (rare hereditary diseases); as well as projects related to energy efficiency and environmental technology.
