About the funder
The Henner-Krogh Foundation for the Promotion of Sylt Musicians was established in December 1998 as a non-profit municipal foundation under the administration of the municipality of Sylt. It has annual funds of approximately €20,000 and supports talented Sylt musicians from socially disadvantaged families in acquiring instruments, sheet music, and teaching materials, as well as in musical training and further education measures. A central funding instrument is the Henner-Krogh Sponsorship Award, granted since 1987, with a minimum prize money of €5,555, supplemented by a special prize from the singer-songwriter Reinhard Mey.

Mission & Vision
The purpose of the foundation is the idealistic and material support of musicians with their main residence on the island of Sylt. It pursues the mission of providing talented emerging artists with a platform, supporting their artistic development, and sustainably enriching the island's musical diversity.
Target groups
Eligible to apply are individuals, music groups, non-profit associations, schools, and choirs with their primary residence on Sylt. Funding is provided especially for projects and initiatives that enhance the cultural offerings on the island and support the development of young musicians.
