Mission & Vision
The Hermann Reemtsma Foundation focuses on aid for self-help and supports cultural and social projects in northern and eastern Germany as well as occasionally in Poland and England. It strengthens the competence, motivation, and responsibility of its local project partners, promotes initiative, entrepreneurial thinking, and community spirit, and contributes to the preservation of public monuments and cultural assets as well as to the support of disadvantaged target groups.
Target groups
Non-profit and charitable institutions are funded, such as associations, foundations, independent welfare organizations, municipal institutions, church congregations, and religious communities recognized as public law corporations. The foundation supports projects in the fields of culture (e.g., monument preservation, restoration, cultural heritage) and social affairs (e.g., early childhood support, strengthening rural areas, empowerment of women, assistance for the homeless, support for hospice work).
