Hopp Foundation

The Hopp Foundation for Computer Literacy & Informatics gGmbH is a non-profit limited liability company based in Weinheim. It supports schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region in promoting computer science, business informatics, robotics, as well as media-didactic and scientific competencies. Its activities include providing and accompanying training for teachers and school leaders, workshops and project offerings for students, support in the procurement of hardware and software, organizing competitions (e.g., robotics competition, Jugend hackt), as well as the development and provision of teaching materials and learning pathways.

The Hopp Foundation is committed to preparing young people for the challenges of the digital future. It supports schools on their individual path toward integrating digital teaching and learning methods, emphasizing a holistic educational approach that combines personal development, fundamental computer science education, and responsible use of digital media.

The funding and educational programs of the Hopp Foundation are primarily aimed at schools (primary level, lower and upper secondary levels, and vocational schools) in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. Additionally, teachers and school leaders who wish to integrate digital media and computer science didactically into their teaching, students who want to acquire practical IT skills through workshops and competitions, as well as computer science teacher trainees are addressed.
