IBG Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt mbH (IBG) is a central funding instrument of the state of Saxony-Anhalt aimed at creating and strengthening sustainably competitive economic structures in the region. The company is headquartered in Magdeburg; it was founded in 1996 and is managed by Dr. Andrea Helzel as Managing Director. The funds managed by IBG participate with equity capital of up to EUR 15 million in various financing rounds, usually as minority stakes. The duration of the investments is aligned with the development phase of the respective companies and typically ranges from five to ten years. The funds are managed by bmp Ventures AG and utilize resources from the European Structural and Investment Funds.

Mission & Vision

IBG's mission is to sustainably strengthen small and medium-sized technology-oriented enterprises in Saxony-Anhalt and thereby establish long-term competitive economic structures in the region. Through targeted investments and partnerships, it supports founders and established SMEs in implementing innovative product and process ideas, thus contributing to the economic development of the state.

Target groups

The target group of IBG comprises technology-oriented and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Saxony-Anhalt, particularly start-ups as well as established SMEs with new product or process ideas. Projects with sustainable growth potential in key markets such as energy, mechanical and plant engineering, resource efficiency, health and medicine, mobility and logistics, chemistry and bioeconomy, as well as nutrition and agriculture are supported.
