Private foundation

About the funder

The Inge and Georg Nordmann Foundation was established in 2012 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Nordmann, Rassmann GmbH by the siblings Edgar E. Nordmann, Anneke Pahl (née Nordmann), and Carsten Nordmann as a trust foundation within the BürgerStiftung Hamburg. The next generation of the family is already actively involved in the foundation’s advisory board. The foundation primarily supports projects of the BürgerStiftung Hamburg that assist socially disadvantaged children and young people in Hamburg. The focus is on educational and upbringing programs as well as arts and cultural work, through which key competencies are imparted, impulses for personal development are given, and cultural participation is enabled.

Mission & Vision

The Inge and Georg Nordmann Foundation aims to provide disadvantaged children and young people in Hamburg with sustainable educational opportunities, strengthen their personalities, and offer them access to art and culture. Through targeted project funding, the foundation seeks to instill self-confidence in young people, promote their sense of responsibility, and open up new perspectives, enabling them to actively and independently shape their future.

Target groups

Socially disadvantaged children and young people in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, as well as non-profit organizations and projects supporting this target group in the fields of education, upbringing, art, and culture, are funded. The focus is on initiatives that impart key competencies, promote personal development, strengthen self-confidence, and create equal opportunities through participation in cultural offerings.
