Mission & Vision

The Joachim Jungius Foundation pursues the mission of promoting outstanding scientific achievements and early-career researchers. Its goal is to provide impetus for research and knowledge advancement, to preserve the name of the philosopher and natural scientist Joachim Jungius, and to strengthen the scientific community in Hamburg and beyond.

Target groups

The foundation's funding activities are directed at the scientific community, particularly at early-career researchers. The focus is on young scientists who are supported through awards, scholarships, or publication subsidies – for example, within the framework of the Joachim Jungius Prize for the Promotion of Early-Career Researchers, awarded every two years.
