About the funder
The Jörg Vollmar Foundation was established in memory of the life's work of Prof. Dr. Jörg F. Vollmar, who served as Head of the Department of Vascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Ulm from 1970 to 1991. Prof. Vollmar is regarded as a leading pioneer in the expansion and advancement of reconstructive vascular surgery in Germany. His discovery and development of new surgical methods, as well as his extensive scientific work, have influenced decisions in the field worldwide. The foundation was officially recognized as a legal foundation under civil law by the Tübingen Regional Council in early February 2009.
