About the funder

The Josef Hagedorn Foundation for Child and Environmental Protection was established in 2007 as a legally recognized foundation under civil law and is recognized as a non-profit organization pursuant to § 52 AO. Its objective is to promote and support projects related to child and environmental protection as well as institutions engaged in child and youth work. Among the supported projects are WWF Germany, RV Elxleben e.V., SOS 86 Children of Chernobyl e.V., German Childhood Cancer Foundation, and the Berner Au Youth Club. Private sponsors such as the GPH Tax Consulting Group Hamburg complete the network of supporters.

Mission & Vision

"How tomorrow looks depends on what we do today for our children and our environment." (Franz-Josef Hagedorn). The foundation follows the guiding principle of sustainably securing life on Earth for future generations. The basis for this is a healthy environment and strong children.

Target groups

The funding programs are aimed at non-profit organizations, associations, and institutions involved in child and youth work, as well as environmental and nature conservation projects in Germany. Initiatives that make a sustainable contribution to the protection of children and the preservation of a healthy environment are supported.
