About the funder

The Jürgen Marwitz Youth Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Lübeck. It was established on the occasion of Dr. Jürgen Marwitz’s 50th birthday, an orthodontist whose estate is transferred to the foundation. Together with board members Harriet Heise and Nicola Petereit, the foundation supports projects that empower children and young people in education, sports, and music. Since being recognized as a non-profit organization in 2007, the foundation has primarily supported sports facilities, youth associations, training and recreational programs, as well as non-profit music education institutions.

Mission & Vision

We are convinced that childhood and youth shape the course of life. Therefore, we open up opportunities for young people in education, culture, and communal experiences. Through targeted support in sports, music, and extracurricular projects, we strengthen discipline, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility. Our goal is to enable new beginnings every day and to make the world a little friendlier for young people.

Target groups

Our funding is aimed at children and young people whose social, cultural, or sporting participation is to be improved. We support non-profit sports clubs and facilities, youth organizations such as scouts, educational and leisure programs, as well as institutions for music education (music schools, choirs, universities). The focus is on projects in Lübeck and the Northern Germany region that promote community experiences and personal development.
