About the funder

The KfH Foundation for Preventive Medicine was established in 2005 by the KfH Board of Trustees for Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation e. V. and is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Neu-Isenburg. It is recognized as a non-profit organization by the Offenbach am Main I tax office and is supervised by the Darmstadt Regional Council. The foundation supports research projects and studies aimed at the early detection and therapeutic optimization of kidney diseases across all age groups. Its activities include supporting large cohort and healthcare studies (e.g., GCKD, DIACORE, 4C, CAD-REF, BIS), awarding the Fritz Scheler Scholarship to young scientists, and collaborating with university hospitals, research institutions, and clinical partners.

Mission & Vision

The KfH Foundation for Preventive Medicine is committed to the early detection of chronic kidney diseases through preventive research and innovative care approaches, aiming to slow their progression. Target groups

The funding programs of the KfH Foundation for Preventive Medicine are aimed at physicians, scientists, and early-career researchers in the field of nephrology and preventive medical research. Individual projects and interdisciplinary consortia at university hospitals, research institutes, and clinics that develop and test innovative approaches for the prevention, early detection, and care of kidney diseases are supported.
