About the funder

The Kieserling Foundation is a non-profit, legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Bremen. It was established in 2004 by Karsten Kieserling, the founder and long-time head of the logistics company Erich Kieserling Bremen (EKB). The foundation supports science and research as well as education and upbringing, with a focus on transport economics and logistics. Its activities include awarding scholarships and prizes, financing professorships, supporting research projects (doctoral and postdoctoral theses), organizing specialist scientific events (e.g., Bremen Logistics Day), and promoting youth development for trainees and interns under the age of 27.
