Klimastiftung für Bürger
About the funder
The Klimastiftung für Bürger was founded in 2014 by the Dietmar Hopp Stiftung gGmbH as a non-profit foundation. Its goal is to raise awareness of climate change among as many people as possible and to inspire sustainable living and economic practices. The core project is the KLIMA ARENA in Sinsheim, an interactive experience center featuring exhibitions, a theme park, special exhibitions, and a multimedia cinema. Its offerings are complemented by workshops and rallies for school classes, seminars for companies and municipalities, the PRIO1 climate network for young activists, and the YouTube channel "klima:neutral." The foundation also demonstrates sustainable practices in its operations: DGNB Platinum-certified building, EMASplus certification, and comprehensive sustainability management.

Mission & Vision
Climate change threatens the basis of human life. Only a socially widely supported transformation to a climate-neutral and sustainable lifestyle can be successful. The Klimastiftung für Bürger therefore imparts fact-based knowledge, promotes dialogue among all social groups, and provides concrete opportunities for action so that everyone can become a shaper of a sustainable future.
Target groups
The foundation addresses citizens across generations. It engages individual visitors and families, serves as an extracurricular learning venue for school classes and teachers, offers training and networking formats for companies, municipalities, and associations, and connects young activists aged 16 to 28 within the PRIO1 climate network. Additionally, it reaches a broad online audience through its YouTube channel.
