The Cancer Foundation North Rhine-Westphalia was established in 2009 by committed stakeholders from healthcare, business, and society. Its primary mission is to promote projects and initiatives in North Rhine-Westphalia that contribute to the prevention, early detection, research, therapy, psycho-oncology, and psychosocial care of cancer patients. In close collaboration with the Cancer Society North Rhine-Westphalia e. V., the foundation initiates and supports research projects, charity events, as well as aid and counseling services to sustainably improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We are committed to holistically improving the care and quality of life of cancer patients in North Rhine-Westphalia. Through targeted financial and non-material support of research, prevention, early detection, and psychosocial care structures, we aim to ensure that those affected and their relatives directly benefit from innovative projects. Our goal is strong, patient-centered support throughout the entire course of the illness.

The funding programs of the Cancer Foundation North Rhine-Westphalia are aimed at people with cancer and their relatives in NRW, as well as medical and psychosocial professionals and institutions (e.g., clinics, counseling centers, self-help groups). Furthermore, the foundation supports research institutions and universities with projects to improve oncological patient care, as well as individuals or institutions with innovative project ideas in the areas of prevention, therapy, aftercare, and public relations.
