Mission & Vision

The Kulturstiftung des Bundes is committed to promoting contemporary art and culture of high artistic quality and social relevance. It supports institutions and initiatives that explore new formats, enable international cooperation, and provide impetus for an open, diverse cultural landscape. Through the development of its own programs, the foundation consolidates its expertise, initiates debates, and thereby strengthens cultural heritage as well as forward-looking projects in Germany and worldwide.

Target groups

Typically, funding is provided to cultural institutions, associations, or organizations—both domestic and international—that implement clearly time-limited artistic projects with a contemporary focus. The programs target initiators and sponsors from the fields of performing arts, visual arts, music, literature, architecture, mediation, as well as interdisciplinary endeavors. Individuals without an organizational background are generally not funded. The aim is to support projects that introduce new artistic impulses and enable social participation.
