Kurt und Erika Schrobach-Stiftung

Private foundation

About the funder

The Kurt and Erika Schrobach Foundation is a private, non-profit nature conservation foundation under civil law based in Kiel. Since its establishment on February 21, 1991, it has been securing and developing valuable habitats in Schleswig-Holstein by purchasing suitable properties and protecting biodiversity there through maintenance and management measures. With currently around 3,300 hectares of secured area, it is the largest private nature conservation foundation in the state. The foundation operates actively and does not provide grants: it plans and implements conservation projects independently or in close cooperation with local clubs, associations, municipalities, as well as agricultural and forestry sectors.

Mission & Vision

We protect, maintain, and sustainably develop nature and landscapes as the foundation of human life. Through collaborative partnerships with local stakeholders, we find consensual solutions that mitigate landscape change and halt species decline. Our goal is a vibrant network of species-rich habitats preserved for future generations.

Target groups

The Schrobach Foundation is aimed at municipal administrations, agricultural and forestry enterprises, nature conservation associations, federations, and other regional partners in Schleswig-Holstein who wish to jointly establish local alliances. It supports actors interested in innovative, practice-oriented nature conservation measures and willing to collaboratively implement environmentally compatible solutions.
