About the funder

The Forest Organization Department of the State of Tyrol is an institution of the Tyrolean state administration within the Agriculture & Forestry division. It is responsible for forestry planning, organization, and the protection of forests throughout Tyrol. This includes, among other things, the development of forestry spatial planning, the coordination of measures for forest protection (such as against snow breakage, pests, and avalanches), advising forest owners, as well as the implementation and management of funding programs like the Forest Fund. The department ensures that forests, as an important component of the natural environment and as protection against natural hazards, are managed sustainably.

Mission & Vision

The Forest Organization Department is committed to sustainable and future-oriented management of Tyrolean forests. Our goal is to secure the diversity, functionality, and protective effect of the forest in the long term. We promote adaptation to climate change, support forest owners in implementing close-to-nature forestry, and thus contribute to the preservation of a stable ecosystem and the safeguarding of livelihoods and protective functions for the population.

Target groups

The funding and service offerings of the Forest Organization Department are primarily aimed at private and municipal forest owners, forestry enterprises, municipalities, as well as forestry associations and clubs in Tyrol. Additionally, planners, engineers, and specialist authorities benefit from the provided forestry spatial planning documents, expert reports, and funding instruments. Our services support all stakeholders committed to sustainable forest management, protection against natural hazards, and value creation in rural areas.
