About the funder
The State Office for Monument Preservation Saxony is a subordinate authority within the portfolio of the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development. Based in the former Estates House at Schlossplatz in Dresden, it carries out tasks such as regional monument preservation, inventory, restoration preparation, documentation, and maintenance of significant collections in cooperation with the lower monument protection authorities. Furthermore, it advises owners, municipalities, and professionals on monument-appropriate measures and provides publications as well as exhibitions.

Target groups
The funding programs of the State Office are aimed at three main groups: owners and possessors of cultural monuments in the Free State of Saxony, who can apply for grants under the Monument Preservation Funding Directive; municipal and specialized authorities of monument protection administration, who, in coordination with the State Office, undertake the legal and technical supervision of monument preservation projects; as well as professionals, restorers, and researchers who access the documentation and collection services offered by the institution.
