The Landessportbund Niedersachsen e.V. (LSB) is the non-profit umbrella organization of organized sports in Lower Saxony, headquartered in Hanover. As a lobbyist, it represents the interests of sports clubs, state specialist associations, and the sports youth towards politics and society. The LSB offers advanced training and continuing education through the Sports Academy, coordinates funding programs in grassroots, competitive, and youth sports, and supports its members with service, consulting, and administrative services. As the largest employer in sports in Lower Saxony, it employs around 200 staff members.

The LSB is committed to sustainable, inclusive, and diverse sports development in Lower Saxony. Our mission is to support sports clubs, professional associations, and athletes, to strengthen social participation, and to promote health, team spirit, and voluntary engagement. We aim to make a positive contribution to the quality of life in the region and to uphold democratic values in sports.
Target groups
The funding and service offerings of the LSB are aimed at sports clubs and associations in Lower Saxony, state specialist federations, the Lower Saxony Sports Youth, as well as active athletes in recreational and competitive sports. In addition, the educational and advisory services are directed at volunteers, full-time employees in sports organizations, and club boards.
