Mission & Vision

The goal of the BVB Foundation "leuchte auf" is to assume social responsibility and to strengthen non-profit organizations and projects – especially in Dortmund and the Ruhr region – through financial grants, donations in kind, and ideal support. In doing so, the foundation leverages the media attention and networks of BVB to raise awareness of social, cultural, and ecological issues and to establish them sustainably.

Target groups

Non-profit civil society organizations as well as social institutions and organizations whose projects have a clear connection to the foundation’s objectives are supported. A key criterion for funding is the significance and sustainability of the project for the people served. A special focus is placed on initiatives in Dortmund and the Ruhr area that pursue innovative approaches to inclusion, education, sports, and social cohesion.
