About the funder
The Matthias Kaufmann Foundation is a legally capable, non-profit foundation under civil law based in Hessisch Lichtenau. Since its establishment in 1992, it has supported projects of clubs, associations, individuals, and non-profit organizations in Northern Hesse from the proceeds of its funds. The focus of funding is on improving active and passive safety in road traffic, expanding emergency services, supporting social aid services, church-missionary work with children and youth, as well as promoting child and youth welfare and voluntary engagement.

Mission & Vision
"We help to help." The Matthias-Kaufmann-Stiftung aims to do good for others by supporting projects that serve traffic safety, emergency medical services and social aid services, child and youth welfare, as well as voluntary engagement. It sustainably promotes ideas and initiatives in Northern Hesse that strengthen the common good and expand local support services.
Target groups
Eligible to apply are non-profit associations, federations, church institutions, individuals, and other organizations based or with project activities in Northern Hesse, which are active in the areas of traffic safety, emergency services, social aid services, child and youth welfare, or volunteer engagement. Funding is provided exclusively for clearly defined, not yet commenced projects that directly implement the foundation's purpose and do not fall within the responsibility of the state or social insurance institutions.
